MSU's Renfroe wins Ferriss Trophy Mississippi State junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe has been named the recipient of the 2013 C Spire Ferriss Trophy, presented annually to the top collegiate baseball player in Mississippi.
The Crystal Springs, Miss., native, one of five finalists for the award, was presented the award Monday afternoon during ceremonies at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Jackson. |

MSU softball eliminated from NCAA Tournament For two hours Saturday, the Mississippi State softball team (33-24) showed the fight which brought them to the big dance, coming from behind to eliminate Mississippi Valley State (25-32) from the 2013 NCAA Mobile Regional. Hours later, the music on the dance floor came to a screeching halt, as the Bulldogs were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 defeat to host South Alabama (47-8). |
